 HR Case Studies 

 

 

To bring out basic issues consider four scenarios which relate to University/Industry relationships, processes within a Group of companies and career progression within the Establishment.  All are based on actual experiences of the career development of individuals possessing much needed talents which are in short supply.  The issues could apply to talented specialists in any field - financial, commercial, recreational etc., etc. but the following scenarios relate particularly to hi-tech fields with significant industrial outcomes.  In the period from which the scenarios were derived the sought-after talent was electronics.  The equivalent nowadays might be nanotechnology.

Each scenario is presented as a case study with two or three suggested questions followed by some points to consider.
